1978
The year climbs as you read.
Family-run concrete pumping in Sydney since 1978.
A.F. Concrete Pumping is Sydney's largest family-run concrete pumping service. The office in Rooty Hill, the workshop and parts counter in Glendenning, one phone number, and a fleet of line pumps and boom pumps that has grown with the city's building work for close to five decades.
The business started in 1978 pumping residential slabs and driveways across western Sydney. Builders came back, the jobs got bigger, and the fleet grew from line pumps for tight access into boom pumps for height and reach. Along the way the yard began keeping its own pumps running with a workshop and a shelf of parts, and other pumpers started calling for the same parts. That counter is now a business of its own.
Today the work runs from a single driveway in Blacktown to a basement carpark in the city, and the same people answer the phone before the first agitator arrives.
